That is an expression a human will give to someone who has just worked his last nerve. And there the dog is giving that very expression to the human who has worked his last nerve with the fake treat giving.

The only conclusion is that the dog’s intelligence has evolved to the point that he knows what facial expression to show in order to inform the human about his disgust at the human’s behavior.
